Our Logo

Based on the scripture verse from John 15:5, “I am the vine, you are the branches”, the design of the logo of the Anglican Foundation of Canada features a solid tree trunk supporting three green leaves.

The tree encompasses a variety of images including the vine through which the eternal Life of Christ flows nourishing new growth and sustaining the Church of our day. A human figure with arms uplifted in worship and praise represents the Church (as the Body of Christ) and her traditions over the past two millennia. Some might also see in it an image of our Lord Jesus, the crucifixion and even the Risen Christ in glory, theChristus Rex.

The bright green leaves are symbolic of life, growth and the bearing of spiritual fruit, which in turn signifies the growth of Christ’s Kingdom within the Church. One might also be reminded of the responsibility which each Christian has accepted in baptism to grow in faith and love, and to flourish and strive to build up the Body of Christ in the world.
