The garden at St. Paul’s Goulds was blessed by the Rt. Rev. Bishop Sam Rose this past summer and the first lettuce was harvested in early August. A bumper crop of potatoes and turnips is now ready to be harvested, and the parish is constantly recruiting volunteers, young and old, to roll up their sleeves and pitch in with this community-building initiative.

“It was encouraging to see the full breadth of AFC’s granting program this cycle, with grants awarded in all five of our funding impact zones,” says Dr. Scott Brubacher, Executive Director. “The grants awarded also represent wide-ranging parts of the country—literally from coast to coast to coast—from Alert Bay, BC, to Iqaluit, NU, to Gander, NL.”
