In addition to awarding the 4th quarter grants and bursaries that included people and projects from 24 dioceses, the board of directors approved the proposed budget for 2025 and discussed plans for the year ahead, including AFC’s presence at General Synod in June, approval of a proposed sabbatical project for AFC’s Executive Director, and the launch of a new strategic planning process in fall 2025 for the next stage of AFC’s growth.

“I remember being so nervous our first Monday night, not knowing if anyone would show up,” recalls the Rev. Canon Jeffrey Metcalfe, “but sure enough, we had three kids and one adult. Then the next Monday, we had four kids and two adults, and now we are up to seven kids and two adults. Suffice to say, our cup hath overfloweth!”

“Your grant for the Youth Voices album project was meant to help us nurture and grow this new ministry and test the possibility of a developing a youth-led Young People’s Recording Studio…I have devoted my professional life to at-risk youth. I know better than most the positive impact that this grant has had in helping our church community to support, nurture, and develop the talents of young people. Thank you AFC!”
