Burgundy Asset Management Champions Say Yes! to Kids Campaign
The Anglican Foundation of Canada is pleased to announce a $4,500 leadership gift from Burgundy Asset Management, Ltd., Toronto, for the Say Yes! to Kids campaign.
“As a father of two—and having grown up in a less-than-fortunate neighbourhood in Toronto—I feel very deeply about supporting at-risk and vulnerable children and youth,” says Paul Buligan, Senior Institutional Relationship Manager, Burgundy Asset Management. “This is an extremely vulnerable time for everyone, but young people feel that vulnerability most of all.”
Burgundy Asset Management has a history of community support. “From corporate causes to grassroots organizations, employees spend a lot of time helping local charities,” says Buligan. “Giving back to our communities is an important part of our corporate culture.”
“We are very fortunate to have a compassionate partner like Burgundy to boost our support for children, youth, and young adults in a post-pandemic world,” says the Rev. Canon Dr. Judy Rois, Executive Director, AFC. “Burgundy has a history of support for AFC through the Kids Helping Kids Fund. This donation is yet another example of their generosity and commitment to helping young people reach their full potential.”
Since 2011, and the launch of KHK, AFC has championed the cause of children, youth, and young adults in Canada with investments totaling over $1,087,000. “From hospice care to homework clubs to breakfast programs and summer camps,” says Canon Rois, “we have seen how resources can be used through people and partnerships to make a lasting difference in the lives of children and youth.”
Rois says AFC will rely on the strength of its granting program to quickly turnaround campaign proceeds by funding a Request for Proposals (RFP) for youth-focused initiatives in fall 2021. “AFC will put the right investments in the right hands and help to fund a meaningful response to the needs of children and youth in a post-pandemic world.”
