Executive Director, Cornerstone Housing for Women
Ottawa, Ontario
Diocese of Ottawa

In 2018 the Anglican Foundation supported Cornerstone Housing for Women to launch the Creating Inclusive Communities program in its newest affordable housing development at 373 Princeton. As a ministry of the Anglican Diocese of Ottawa, Cornerstone is committed to the principles of Truth and Reconciliation by ensuring that 10% of 42 units are protected for Indigenous women, and helping residents receive the services they need after experiencing homelessness. A Traditional Support Worker has been seconded from Minwaashin Lodge to work at Cornerstone two days per week for three years. She helped design the physical facilities to be intentionally inclusive of Indigenous artwork and symbolism., and she plays a healing and educative role for the women who have found a home in this beautiful repurposed convent. The Anglican Foundation has been a supportive partner in creating a transformational community where women can heal and recover.
