It was when I was just graduating from seminary and preparing for ordination that I heard about the Anglican Foundation. I thought, “Wow! What a marvellous resource for our church to help parishes to repair, rebuild, or add facilities.” This was in 1964. I decided I would like to make a modest donation to AFC. I did that every year for over 50 years.
Little did I know as a young ordinand how important AFC would be in my ministry as a parish priest, a campus chaplain, and in 18 years as a diocesan bishop. It helped several parishes in a far-flung, largely rural diocese, and many ordinands who received bursaries. Thank you, AFC!
