Founding members step forward to invest in the church of tomorrow today
A new chapter in the life of the Anglican Foundation of Canada (AFC) is already beginning to take shape. In recent months, donors from across the Anglican Church of Canada have come forward as founding members of the Anglican Foundation Legacy Society, committing planned gifts that will help sustain ministry, strengthen parishes, and support innovation for generations to come.
“These early commitments are deeply encouraging,” says Dr. Scott Brubacher, Executive Director. “They reflect a quiet but powerful confidence in the future of the Church—and a belief that what we build today can serve God’s people long after we’re gone.”
The Anglican Foundation Legacy Society, established in 2025, honours those who choose to include the Foundation in their long-term financial planning—through a bequest, a life insurance policy, or a gift of securities or registered assets. Together, these founding members are building a durable, forward-looking base of support that will allow AFC to remain responsive to emerging needs while continuing its national granting and bursary work.
“What unites Legacy Society members is not the size or structure of a gift,” explains Brubacher, “but a shared commitment to stewardship and hope. By making a planned gift, members ensure that the ministries they care about today will continue to flourish tomorrow.”
As more individuals step forward, the Anglican Foundation Legacy Society is becoming a visible expression of faith in action—one that invites reflection, conversation, and prayerful discernment across the Church.
Those who notify AFC of a planned gift through 2026–27, leading to AFC’s 70th anniversary, will be welcomed as founding members of the AFC Legacy Society and recognized as part of this growing circle of generosity.
