The Anglican Foundation of Canada provides bursaries for theological education through a number of trusts and funds. Bursary applicants fall into three main categories:
- General theological – training for ordained or lay ministry in the Anglican Church of Canada at a recognized theological college
- Advanced degree – advanced theological study at the post-graduate level with a view to contributing to the life and ministry of the Anglican Church of Canada
- Doctor of Ministry – individuals who are in good standing in the Anglican Church of Canada who are pursuing the Doctor of Ministry degree at a recognized theological college
Bursaries are not given for undergraduate study.
Applications may be submitted each year on January 1, April 1, July 1, and October 1.
However, due to the smaller volume of applications, the Board of Directors anticipates reviewing these submissions only following the April 1 and October 1 deadlines (Q2 and Q4 each year).
Complete your application and submit it using the new Grant Application Portal.
If you have any questions about the application process, please contact the Foundation office by email.
Applications submitted by the April deadline are intended for the following academic year (September through August). Applications submitted by the October deadline are applicable to the current academic year (September through August).
Applicants may not receive more than one bursary per academic year (September through August), with a maximum of three bursaries per degree program.
Applicants are advised of the results within two weeks following the meeting at which the Board of Directors considered the application.
