Welcoming the Rev. Amy Hamilton as Acting Executive Director
The Anglican Foundation of Canada (AFC) is pleased to announce that the Rev. Amy Hamilton will serve as Acting Executive Director from July 1 to October 31, 2025, during Dr. Scott Brubacher’s sabbatical.
A long-serving board member and past Chair of the Grants Committee, Amy brings a rare combination of pastoral depth, governance experience, and national perspective to this interim leadership role. Since joining the board in 2020, Amy has served in a variety of capacities—from Secretary to Human Resources Committee member—and has been instrumental in advancing AFC’s granting, strategy, and governance work.
“Serving as Acting Executive Director feels like a natural extension of my five years on the AFC board,” says Hamilton. “I’m deeply honoured and excited to step into this role at such a hopeful and imaginative time for the Foundation. AFC has given me a front-row seat to the generosity and creativity of our Church, and I see this as an opportunity to further contribute in a hands-on way—to steward the mission forward with care and continuity. It’s also a chance to keep learning about national leadership, faithful innovation, and how we can build an even stronger Church together.”
“I think few directors have served in as many varied capacities as Amy has,” says Brubacher. “When we began to consider a sabbatical coverage plan, Amy stood out as someone who not only knows AFC well, but who could bring compassionate, credible leadership at a pivotal moment in our journey.”
Amy currently serves as the incumbent at the Church of the Epiphany in Verdun, Quebec, and has earned a reputation as a thoughtful, relational leader who embodies the Foundation’s values of care, equity, and imagination.
During Amy’s time as Acting Executive Director, she will work closely with staff and the Board of Directors to ensure continuity across AFC’s programs and campaigns, including the final phase of the 2025 Say Yes! to Kids campaign and the 3rd quarter grants cycle. With her pastoral heart and proven governance skillset, Amy is exceptionally well-positioned to lead AFC in this season.
Please join the entire AFC team in welcoming Amy to this new role, and in praying for a restful and renewing sabbatical for Scott.
