Visit to the Homework Club

Fred Hiltz, Primate of the Anglican Church of Canada and Chair of the Anglican Foundation of Canada, visits with children of immigrant families who come every week day to St. Simon-the-Apostle Church to do their homework, enjoy a nutritious snack, play and have fun with kids their age. Every day, volunteers help up to 25 kids overcome the academic obstacles of language and cultural differences.

The donations of generous Canadian Anglicans made it possible to renovate the kitchen, buy new laptop computers and partner with ecumenical groups to keep the homework club afloat so that children in the St. Jamestown neighbourhood can play and learn in a safe and supportive environment.
