The Anglican Foundation of Canada (AFC) is pleased to announce that the Rev. Amy Hamilton will serve as Acting Executive Director from July 1 to October 31, 2025, during Dr. Scott Brubacher’s sabbatical. Leadership in Focus

The impact of Summer Fruit for Souls extends far beyond diocesan boundaries. “We’re growing into something more provincial,” says Dr. Laurel Dempsey, co-chair of the Lay Readers Association. “We had participants from five dioceses last year. This grant from AFC gives us breathing room…It allows us to keep the doors open for people who might not otherwise be able to attend. That’s critical to our goal of creating a truly inclusive, accessible space for lay formation.”

AGM 2025

“AFC grants are helping to shape the Church’s present,” said Brubacher, “but we are equally committed to securing its future.” Brubacher’s report reflected a shift in the Foundation’s role from responsive grant maker to proactive, strategic partner, “Our goal is not to passively respond to funding requests,” he explained, “but together to seek opportunities for growth and renewal.”

Grant Awards Announced

At its May 2025 meeting, the Anglican Foundation of Canada approved over $220,000 to support 25 projects across 18 dioceses, including community ministries, infrastructure, and education bringing AFC’s 2025 grant disbursements to date to over $380,000. A $100,000 loan was also awarded for a major renovation in Ottawa. The meeting featured heartfelt tributes to departing Directors and a presentation on legacy giving.
