Our Diocese was in the beginning of casting a new vision for ministry with Bishop John Watton’s first Charge to Synod, when we read the 2017 Request for Proposals from the Anglican Foundation. Our successful project proposal focuses on Revitalization and Rural Ministry. We have done some initial research on entrepreneurs who are flourishing in areas of our diocese, particularly on the Bonavista Peninsula. Key to their success is in providing support to one another, both in terms of space to work and to vision. We will soon put out a call for proposals from parishes. The funding from the Foundation will provide a space for them to meet and resource people to equip them for their own “Spiritual Entrepreneurship” project. Both Bishop John and I have completed a course in Spiritual Entrepreneurship to prepare us for this phase. We hope then to share the learnings of this small group with the whole diocese. Exciting times ahead!
