AFC Board approves $170,000 in grants
The Anglican Foundation of Canada (AFC) Board of Directors met by ZOOM on Thursday, February 29 to approve $170,000 in funding to 16 applicants. “This is only the second January grants cycle since we transitioned to a quarterly schedule,” says Dr. Scott Brubacher, Executive Director. “We were very pleased to see so many excellent applications come forward.”
The Board also received a report on year-end financial results which included news of AFC’s best-ever fundraising annual campaign. “With more than $180,000 in annual membership donations, plus over $12,000 in donations to AFC’s priority granting impact zones, and generous gifts to special campaigns such as Say Yes! to Kids, the ACW Council of the North Retired Clergy Fund and the David Phillip Jones Preaching Fund, the bond between Canadian Anglicans and their national foundation grows stronger every year.”
The Most Rev. Linda Nicholls, Primate of the Anglican Church of Canada and Chair of AFC expressed her gratitude for the continued generosity of Canadian Anglicans, and her delight in the geographic scope of 2023 grants which supported 28 of 30 dioceses. “AFC is such a faithful partner for the ministry of our Church across urban, rural, and isolated parts of Canada. Thanks be to God!”
The full list of Q1 2024 grant awards will be published once all grant recipients have been notified. 2023 financial results will be published in AFC’s annual report in May.
