The Anglican Foundation of Canada and St. Anne’s Anglican Church, Toronto, are pleased to invite friends in the Greater Toronto Area to attend a Choral Evensong and the closing night exhibition of “NetherMind – Elegy” on Wednesday, November 16. The exhibition has been generously funded by a grant from the George & Esther Snell Trust. 

Over the next year, under the guidance of the Rev. Mark Whittall, Incumbent, these students will commit to living together as part of their faith journey. As members of this intentional community, they also commit to supporting one another in their spiritual, work, and academic life.

“As the Anglican Church of Canada continues to walk together with Indigenous Anglicans across Canada this initiative is a tangible sign of that commitment. Building connections between young people will be essential to the future of our churches and the country. Thank you to the AFC donors who have made this possible!”

Since 2010 AFC has provided more than $450,000 in support of Indigenous Ministries. Grants have included funding for healing and reconciliation initiatives, support for the language revitalization movement, and numerous urban Indigenous ministry projects.

“Jack Howell was the voice of history, and his perspective of the past became the voice of wisdom and grace on the Catholic Apostolic Universal Church Trust Fund Advisory Committee. And it was his perspective of the past that helped to keep us focused on the mission of the church for the future.”

“Our shows offer church communities a way to keep the discussions alive at home and at church. We encourage follow up activities that allow everyone to continue exploring the topic we present in a play. In some cases, we can…provide resources for adults and parents who want to keep learning.”

Through grants and bursaries, the Anglican Foundation of Canada (AFC) is committed to alleviating the financial burden of students. Thanks to the generosity of Canadian Anglicans, in 2021 AFC awarded $36,500 in bursaries for theological education to students enrolled in a variety of programs. Here are some of our 2021 bursary recipients:
