Q1 Grants Approved

Included in AFC’s Q1 grant cycle was a $15,000 grant to Church of the Holy Trinity in Toronto to help expand the much-needed Unity Kitchen Street Level Hub. This partnership-based outreach project grew out of the pandemic but continues to play an important role in poverty reduction and food security provision in Toronto’s Downtown East.

Youth Podcast Drops

With the help of people from the congregation to serve as den mothers for the group and others to source podcasting equipment, the intergenerational team has braved the learning curve of podcasting together. “The youth choose the topics,” says the Rev. Jann Brooks, who wants as much as possible for the program to be fully youth-led.

And so, the work of the last 18 months comes to a conclusion—the last notes, the final bar line of this piece, but perhaps only the first movement of a new symphony that remains to be realized, as AFC’s strategic plan unfolds through the coming years. We hope that this newly realized grants program will encourage Anglicans with vision to seek out AFC support to bring their projects to fruition.

Say Yes! to Kids 2023

SYTK 2023 will look very much like the 2022 campaign. We will launch on Tuesday, April 11, and close on June 30. Parishes can choose the fundraising activity that suits them best, but our team will help with fundraising ideas. And we are absolutely working to identify donors who will support the matching gift program, which has been very successful in boosting campaign revenue.
